MAN plans elaborate proposal for girlfriend of 5 years, for dog to EAT engagement ring.

Daniel Westbrook 27, had thought of everything to make his proposal to girlfriend Stephanie Myers 26 special, and with the help of Buddy the boxer, special it certainly was.

Carpenter Dan filled their cosy home in Bristol with candles, balloons and rose petals to surprise ‘GIRLY-GIRL’ Steph. He even went as far as to have a personalised cake made in the shape of their beloved pooch Buddy. Little did the pair know, Buddy had plans of his own. 

Having started the romantic night well, charmer Dan decided it was time to reveal the MUT-sterpiece, and things soon went pear shape. Buddy sniffed out the chocolate and strawberry concoction as soon as lover-man Dan carried it from the kitchen to the dining room, and in a matter of seconds Buddy was hot on his heels.

The 3-year-old boxer leaped up against Dan, sending the cake flying, where the dopey dog then set about clearing up the CAKE-tastrophie. Dan says: “He’s such a big dog, and really excitable, I should have seen it coming really”.

This isn’t the first time Buddy’s mouth has lead him to trouble, “once we came home from work and he’d ate a hole through the floorboards” Steph explains. “We’ve explained the situation to the vet, and they’ve given him some laxatives to help speed up the process of retrieving the ring”.

“Dan hasn’t showed me what the ring looks like, so I guess it’ll still be a surprise…” Steph tells The Sun Online. Here’s to looking for the silver-lining, Steph.
